[[PageOutline]] = Overview = The BSI C++ panel, more formally known as [http://standardsdevelopment.bsigroup.com/committees/50003497 IST/5/-/21], is responsible for the UK standardisation process for C++. Much of this work involves interaction with [http://www.open-std.org/jtc1/sc22/wg21/ SC22/WG21] the ISO working group for C++. The BSI, as the the UK National Standards Body (NSB), registers members of the panel with ISO as "Individual Experts" and they represent the UK at SC22/WG21. = Meeting Schedule = A lot of work is done electronically though a members-only email list and there also are a number of online meetings held each year; although a combination of time zones and other commitments means that not all members can attend every meeting. {{{#!td The planned 2025 virtual BSI C++ panel meetings are: * [wiki:members/meetings/2025/01_06 Mon 06 Jan (09:30 - 13:30 GMT)] * **[wiki:members/meetings/2025/02_03 Mon 03 Feb (14:00 - 18:00 GMT)]** * [wiki:members/meetings/2025/02_24 Mon 24 Feb (09:30 - 13:30 GMT)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2025/03_24 Mon 24 Mar (14:00 - 18:00 GMT)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2025/04_28 Mon 28 Apr (09:30 - 13:30 BST)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2025/05_27 TUE 27 May (14:00 - 18:00 BST)] * **[wiki:members/meetings/2025/06_09 Mon 09 Jun (09:30 - 13:30 BST)]** }}} {{{#!td The planned 2024 virtual BSI C++ panel meetings are: * [wiki:members/meetings/2024/01_08 Mon 08 Jan (09:30 - 13:30 GMT)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2024/01_29 Mon 29 Jan (14:00 - 18:00 GMT)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2024/02_26 Mon 26 Feb (09:30 - 13:30 GMT)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2024/03_11 Mon 11 Mar (14:00 - 18:00 GMT)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2024/04_29 Mon 29 Apr (09:30 - 13:30 BST)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2024/05_28 TUE 28 May (14:00 - 18:00 BST)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2024/06_17 Mon 17 Jun (09:30 - 13:30 BST)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2024/07_29 Mon 29 Jul (14:00 - 18:00 BST)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2024/08_27 TUE 27 Aug (09:30 - 13:30 BST)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2024/09_30 Mon 30 Sep (14:00 - 18:00 BST)] * [wiki:members/meetings/2024/10_28 Mon 28 Oct (09:30 - 13:30 GMT)] * **[wiki:members/meetings/2024/11_11 Mon 11 Nov (14:00 - 18:00 GMT)]** (official meetings are in **bold**) }}} Meetings were normally held at the BSI: [wiki:bsi_meetings#Location 389 Chiswick High Road, London, W4 4AL], but since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic all meetings have been held online. These and other relevant panel meetings are shown in our [wiki:bsi_meetings#Calendar Google Calendar]. = Membership = The BSI C++ panel consists of a number of people who share a common interest in C++ and a desire to help with standardising the language as it continues to develop. Membership of the BSI C++ Committee is voluntary. There is no payment for membership nor charges for joining. To apply please complete the form at https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/BSI-Standards-Maker-App listing your preferred committee as "IST/5/-/21 - C++" Before applying you may want to have an up to date CV ready and possibly any affiliations if you are joining on behalf of an employer or another organisation. However, most of our existing members have joined as individual experts. If you have a specialism in C++, or more widely in programming, mention this as we have had applications rejected by the BSI as the requestor did not provide good enough reasons for their application to be approved.
